About the practice
A professional therapy practice built for lasting change.
Actualise Counselling and Therapy is a professional practice delivering registered counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and organisations.
Lucy Nicholas
MBACPClinical Lead & Integrative Counsellor
Lucy brings years of experience working across private practice, organisational settings, and community services — offering a grounded, integrative approach to every client. Her training spans person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic approaches, enabling a tailored response to each individual's needs rather than a one-size-fits-all method.
As Clinical Lead at Actualise, Lucy oversees the quality and consistency of care across all services. She has particular experience working with neurodivergent clients — including those with ADHD and autism — and brings a thoughtful, affirming approach to supporting people whose minds work differently.
Alongside her clinical work, Lucy conducts initial assessments, provides clinical supervision to trainee and qualified counsellors, and has teaching experience in counselling education. She is committed to raising the standard of therapeutic practice through mentorship and professional development.
Lucy's practice is built on warmth, honesty, and deep respect for the courage it takes to seek support. Clients are not judged here — only heard, understood, and gently supported to grow.

Our approach
No two people are the same — and no two therapeutic journeys should be either. We draw on a range of evidence-based approaches, always led by what will serve each client best.
Person-Centred
Clients are the experts on their own lives. Our role is to create the conditions in which each person can access their own wisdom and capacity for change.
Integrative
We draw on CBT, psychodynamic thinking, and mindfulness-based approaches — combining what the evidence supports with what resonates for each individual.
Relational
The therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful vehicle for change. We bring honesty, warmth, and genuine presence to every session.
